Housing
- an wire mesh outdoor avairy is best, should be at least the size of a walk-in shed
- if caged indoors, a large parrot cage or ferret type cage will work
- they are social and can live in same sex pairs or groups
- Bedding: aspen or corn cob (if caged)
- Accessories: nest box, branches, ledges, hideaways, ferret wheel (if caged)
Food
- mixture of a high quality large parrot mix that includes nuts and dried fruit, rodent blocks and kitten kibble
- fresh fruit or veggies once to twice weekly
- provide a cuttlebone or mineral block
Breeding
- Maturity:1-2 years old
- Gestation: 40-44 days
- Litter size: 1-6
- eyes open at 25-30 days old
- should be fully weaned by 10 weeks old
